McClearys Public House was originally co-established by Kip and Michelle McCleary. On June 1, 2006 our family took over McClearys. The origins of this new family owned and operated business come from a dream and a passion. Freddy and Dani have been involved in numerous restaurant establishments in Lancaster County for years but Freddy’s dream was to own his own restaurant. Gene, who has been involved in the entertainment business for over 38 years, always had a passion to own a venue where he could provide upscale local live music in an Irish Pub. In Freddy’s search for a venue he stumbled upon McClearys which was a bit more than he was considering so he called Gene. Gene who is 50% Irish fell in love with McClearys authentic pub feel. Freddy and Gene shook hands and became 50-50% business partners. Anne and Dani immediately jumped in, rolled up their sleeves and for two months worked day and night to prepare McClearys for the August soft opening. Chef Matt LaSala became part of our family in July to complete our team.
